Although The Segal Law Firm is engaged in the general practice of law in State and Federal Courts, we have focused on particular areas of law in an effort to provide aggressive professional legal services. |
PERSONAL INJURY AND INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENTS
From the simplest automobile accident to the most complex explosion case, Scott S. Segal has spent the past nineteen years preparing, settling and trying personal injury cases. While at work, at home and at play, the working men and women of West Virginia are often injured in automobile accident; work-related accidents; product accidents involving machines and equipment; and by exposure to toxic substances such as asbestos.
Personal injury cases are handled on a contingent fee basis and no attorney
fees are charged unless money is obtained for you. If suit is filed, court costs
must be handled separately. Feel free to call The Segal Law Firm for a free
consultation and ask Mr. Segal about his courtroom experience.
EMPLOYEE RETIREMENT INCOME SECURITY ACT - 1974 (ERISA)
One of the most complex and changing areas of the law today involves the
management of health, welfare and retirement accounts in accordance with strict
federal statutes. Our sound legal advise is critical to the proper protection of
workers and their unions under these complicated federal laws.
UNION REPRESENTATION
The Union movement has contributed more to the quality of life, health and
safety of West Virginia workers than any other factor in history. The struggle
for strong solidarity continues. Our firm is dedicated to continued assistance
to unions in the struggles to benefit their members.
CIVIL SERVICE
Cities, counties, and the State of West Virginia are now required as a result of Civil Service Statutes for policemen, deputies, fire fighters and state employees to comply with statutory procedures and guidelines to fill vacancies for initial appointments as well as for promotions. Moreover, the civil service statutes provide for procedural guidelines to be followed in the form of hearings before a public employee is removed, discharged, suspended or reduced in rank or pay. Our firm has years of experience in working with policemen, deputies, fire fighters and state employees to assist and insure that their statutory rights are fully and adequately protected.
